The St Andrew's fireworks complex
is situated in the limits of Luqa. The
members of this complex are all volunteers who have a special passion for
pyrotechnics.
Although it
was built in the sixties, the fireworks manufactured by the members dates back
to the 19th century.
Nowadays, this complex is one of the most renowned for aerial and ground
fireworks displays. Such shows, especially those held during the feast of St
Andrew held every first Sunday of July, attracts hundreds of enthusiasts, both
Maltese and tourists.
They took part during the
pyrotechnic show held on the 25th Anniversary of Malta's
Independence day at the Grand Harbour. They proudly
hold another three shows in Gozo and about five other pyrotechnic shows held in
various villages in Malta.
St.Andrew Fireworks Complex of Luqa won the first edition of this Festival in
2007.
